The meeting was called to order at 6:03. Larry, Ann, Tom B, Brian, Skip, Greg, Linda, Francine, Jim, Tina, Paula, Dawn, and Joni were in attendance.

ICE HARVEST –

This went well. There was a good turnout and lots of participation.  We are getting older. If we don’t get more help, we may have to use chainsaws in the future. We got about 120 squares of ice. No Boy Scouts were present that we know of.

SNOWSHOE EVENT –

$25 came in from donations.  We may have to relook this.  Maybe combine it with Heritage Holly Days or another event.  This does not seem to be a good weekend for snow.  The Boy Scouts who came helped stuff bags for the School Groups.

Skip reported on the Boy Scout Event to be held April 26 & 27 at the site.  They will camp away from the cabin and firepit as this is the same weekend as the Cooking Class.  They requested to have a Blacksmith on-site to teach skills to the boys.  Possibly have them sift through the sand removed from around the house basement, and look for artifacts.  They also requested to possibly see the sawmill in action.  Mike will get the Water Buffalo.  They will have fires much like at Pioneer Fest, dig a hole, and put the sod to the side, replacing the sod when done.

There was a discussion about the dirt that is around the house.  Don proposed to look through the sand for artifacts and then start to backfill.  Don will coordinate the sifting of the topsoil, which is frozen right now, for artifacts.

Tom B. gave some information on a possible banner for events to be located at the corner of the intersection of 8th St. So. & the Riverview Expressway.  The fee is $175 each time.  $25 of that amount is a permit.  We will not be pursuing this at this time.

WINTER FEAST –

Food is all planned and set to go.  Tom has a list of people for the kitchen on Friday.  The tablecloth setup can start on Friday.  We would like to have 10 people in costume to bring out the raffle baskets and prizes.  Each will tell about their costume when they do so.  There was discussion regarding times, utensils needed, etc.  Paula will bring costumes for the volunteers and the cider.  Greg has a pickup truck to haul things from the site to the Community Center The dishwasher at the Community Center is being repaired this week.  We need to sell more tickets.  Details of meats, and vegetables were discussed along with who is bringing what.  There will be a potluck on Friday for everyone.

PIONEER FEST –

11 vendors have replied that they will be attending.  This is coming together.

CIVIL WA DAYS –

We have on positive commitment from the 1st Alabama Cavalry.  2 food trucks are available.  We have musicians lined up for Saturday night’s dance.

TOWN HALL –

Tina is meeting with Steve Parker on Friday.

Mike is meeting with the Town of Saratoga regarding using their marquee for advertising.

Tina is applying for a grant where we need to spend the money first and then we will receive the grant.

HOUSE –

The house is back over the foundation hole.  The angle iron and top late are not on.  This needs to be done before the house can be put back down.  After the house is down, the basement floor can be poured.  We can use the original door that is on the house and the “front” door can be increased to accommodate handicapped.  The new handicapped ramp will not be metal.

Joni made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Mike.  The meeting adjourned at 7:38 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Joni Wolf, Secretary
