Delight in the season’s bounty with tasty samples of delicious fall fare, featuring traditional harvest activities like apple cider pressing, corn shelling, making sauerkraut, and harvest produce sales.

Take a tour of the Wakely home, a beautifully preserved piece of history that will give you a glimpse into the lives of early settlers. Join in the fun by making your own pressed apple cider.

Step back in time and explore the many historic buildings at the event, each with their own unique demonstrations that will transport you to a bygone era. Marvel at the skill of the blacksmith as he expertly hammers away at glowing iron, or venture into the fur trade cabin and witness firsthand the frontier equipment used in the early days of exploration.

See how sauerkraut is made and visit the Columbia School to learn about the fascinating history of 1-room schoolhouses. With so much to see and do, this event is the perfect way to celebrate the magic of fall!

Apple Fritters Recipe
2 Cups Flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
3 Tablespoons sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups tart apples coarsely chopped
Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually add beaten eggs and milk. Combined.
Refrigerate batter 2 hours stir in apples,
Drop by tablespoonful’s into deep fat (360 degrees to 375 degrees) and let fry 3 to 5 minutes till golden brown. Roll in powdered sugar and cinnamon.
