The meeting was called to order. Those present were Larry, Mike, Skip, Don, Luke,
Johann, Tom W., Brian and Joni.

HARVEST FAIR

We made a profit on this event. Larry said there were new people – this is good.
For next year, we will do popcorn again. Maybe have someone for games ahead of
time. Don said Brooke’s family helped a lot. Luke had a new idea for a Scavenger Hunt in the garden. Larry said having recipes on the website is good. Mike suggested maybe having a cooking contest. We could have our own cookbook.

SPIRIT WALK

This is pretty well set up. Mike told everyone who will be there “where the spirits
will be”. Anne and Dawn will be doing tickets. We have 7 – 8 guides and some tail
guides. The flies will be set up in a couple of weeks.

ENCAMPMENT

There should be better signage. People did not know where to go.
Dick Smrz’ family was there on Saturday. He did some chimney work at the site
and the brick front and other items on the school.

SCHOOL GROUPS

Three done and three more groups to come; one more Luke is waiting to hear back from. Luke said so far everything is going well. Stamped bags are like a coupon to come back with free admission. There was some discussion. Luke is looking for more ideas. Mike said maybe we could have the tool that twists twine into rope. Maybe give them a clothespin or wooden button from the house. Don suggested putting up a circus tent.

OTHER BUSINESS

Joe had mentioned before that there was a birch bark canoe being donated. Tina was going to follow up on this. We hope it is still available.

HERITAGE HOLLY DAY

We want to do more publicity for this event as we will be joined by The Family
Center, The Boys and Girls Club and McMillan Library. Tom and Joe want to decorate the cabin. We want to have a hayride. We have a tractor but need a wagon. Maybe Jim Scheurman by Tom and Joni? Don will be making “icicles” in the blacksmith shop. Joni will get carolers and look for costumes. Mike said Jim Allen may have a tractor.

Contact Heather Sairs – who did they have giving rides to people for Pumpkinfest?
Larry suggested making yarn dolls, kids with parental help. This would be a craft at the house and could be used to decorate the tree.

We talked about the tree at the South Wood County Historical Museum for Christmas Tree Walk.

OTHER BUSINESS

The CEED people came out to the site, and it was the whole group. John Hoffman and Luke were there. They came in a big Lamers bus after the school group’s left. (There had been an issue with Crocket Septic before this happened.) The CEED group wanted to see all the CEED projects. Luke took them to the Town Hall and Tina came to meet them. There was a communication breakdown. We didn’t know what they were expecting. Don said we couldn’t do this in the time frame they had.

Luke said we should have things in the new airport when it is done for people flying in for Sand Valley.

Need the schedule for 2027 – people are asking for it. Joni will call the Port Edwards Lions for the Fisheree date.

SCOUTING

2 Eagle Scouts could possibly do projects at the site This has to be submitted
before they turn 18.

Don said he was told it’s hard to find people to do Community Service because it’s on Sundays. He has been working with someone who has been doing things at the site. On the 19 th , they will be doing the electric in the basement of the house and
reconnecting the upstairs electricity.

Luke talked about maybe having a shade garden. The present garden is a sun garden. The new garden would be north of the rock pile.

ADJOURNMENT

Joni made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Tom. Meeting adjourned at 7:12.

Respectfully Submitted.
Joni Wolf, Secretary
